Technology in Society
The role of technology in education is explored, including historical perspectives and issues of equal access to technology. Assistive technology is introduced and legal and ethical issues are discussed.

Finding Resources
The ability to acquire, store, and retrieve electronic resources is developed. Special attention is focused on evaluating and citing these resources.

Multimedia Development

Web-site Mastering
Design of web-based instruction, including its organization and delivery, is learned. Lessons include online assessment and evaluation; streaming video over the Web, and desktop conferencing.

Distance Communication
Collaborating at a distance, using distance communication tools, has become a reality in today's schools. Participants learn how to integrate collaborative skills into the educational setting.

Professional Development
The MTT learns how to identify professional development needs and design professional development resources.

Instructional Design and Development
Student-centered learning, learner analysis, assessment, and research are incorporated by the MTT into instructional design and development.

Being a Master Technology Teacher
After mastering the knowledge and skills required of the MTT, the "real fun" begins. Leadership, mentoring, coaching, consulting, and collaboration skills are developed and practiced with fellow teachers in a field-based environment under the guidance of A&M MTT faculty.
