Teaching with Technology
Student-centered learning, learner analysis, assessment, and research are incorporated into instructional design and development.

Using Classroom Tech in Classroom/Engage Students
Student-centered learning environments are designed to provide students with opportunities to take an active role in their learning by shifting responsibilities of organizing, analyzing, and synthesizing content from the teacher to the learner. In this lesson, you will learn what is meant by student-centered learning and the role of the teacher within this environment, how to design learning opportunities that apply problem-based, project-based, and case-based activities, and how technology can be used to maximize student learning and teacher effectiveness. For the final activity, you will be asked to design student-centered small-group activities surrounding a particular topic.

Learner Analysis & Research
How do you know if you are designing your course to benefit students and increasing their knowledge? Conducting research in your class includes formal and summative evaluations of the learning objectives and goals that you set at the beginning of the year or semester. Before you can do evaluations, you need to conduct a needs analysis of your curriculum and determine your learning objectives. This lesson will cover all phases of evaluating your course and includes strategies for conducting sound research to support your curriculum.

Introduction to Assistive Technology
Having a solid, foundational knowledge of assistive technology (AT) will not only help you meet the needs of students with disabilities on your campus, but it will also help you improve the services you provide to students who have no disabilities. This lesson will familiarize you with terms related to the field of assistive technology. You will also learn about current legislation that provides for and protects the rights of people with disabilities to have access to the tools they need within the educational environment. You will become familiar with the types of assistive technology as well as the process for determining appropriate assistive technology solutions.
