Master Technology Teacher FAQs


Can this course count toward a degree?
No, this is continuing education. Continuing education credit in the state of Texas cannot be counted toward a degree of any kind.

How do I benefit from taking this course?
Upon completion of this course, you will be certified by Texas A&M. Also upon
completion of this course, you will be prepared to take the Texas SBEC
certification exam.

Does this certification qualify me for a pay raise?
Yes. The details of such a pay raise will have to be discussed with your respective school district.

Does taking this course qualify me for a state stipend?
Currently no, but the legislature will be working to change this in the future.
Districts are encouraged by the state to offer pay raises.

Is the course completely online?
Yes, the course is completely online, with several online sessions held live. While you are not absolutely required to attend the live sessions since they will be recorded and then streamed online, we strongly recommend that you do attend the live sessions.

How long does this course take?
Since this is a new course, and the pace is up to you, we cannot put a definitive answer to this question. We can say that we are expecting students to complete the course in 5-9 months.

Are there different payment options?
Yes, you can pay in one lump sum or in six installments, registering and paying conveniently online.

Are there discounts available?
Yes, groups of 2 or more from one district will receive a 50% discount for each teacher enrolled.

Continuing Education Services Cancellation and Payment Policies

Cancellation
Participants are expected to complete their program of study. If for any reason, the participants are unable to fulfill their obligations, written notification must be submitted to the program director within 30 days of a scheduled module and/or class. A non-refundable cancellation fee will be assessed after payment due dates if written notification is not on file in the Continuing Education Services, Center for Distance Learning Research, Texas A&M University. If notice is received thirty days before the scheduled class, participants will receive their fees minus a cancellation fee of 3% of the original fee. If notice is received less than thirty days prior to scheduled module, the students will receive their fees minus a cancellation fee of 10% of the original fee. Once a class has commenced, there are no refunds.

The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone its programs in the event of insufficient registrations, instructor illness, severe weather, or natural disaster. In the event of program cancellation, registrants will be notified immediately and all fees will be returned in full.


Payment
If a module/class payment is not received on scheduled due date, your registration will be subject to cancellation. In addition, a late fee will be assessed for all registrations past the scheduled due date for payment.
